A close confidant of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Ambassador Young was a key strategist during the Civil Rights Movement, helping lead historic efforts such as the Selma to Montgomery marches. He later became the first African American U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and served two terms as mayor of Atlanta, where he helped transform the city into an international hub of culture and commerce.

Known for merging classical musicianship with hip-hop and R&B, Orchestra Noir brings a symphonic experience like no other. This high-energy, genre-defying performance will open the weekend with a bold celebration of Black creativity and excellence.

Launching in 2025, Freedom Vibes will become an epicenter of freedom in Fort Worth's cultural landscape. This inaugural festival will bring insightful thought leaders, award-winning musicians, and impactful community-building activities.
This festival offers a multitude of programs including public art activations, historic artifacts highlighted in our Juneteenth exhibition, and educational opportunities in partnership with our Museum partners.
